1963, Belgian Comics: Kari Lente, "De Verloren Zoon"

In 1963 the "Kari Lente" story "De Verloren Zoon" ("The lost Son") was published (09/02/1963 – 19/04/1963) in the Belgian newspaper "Gazet van Antwerpen". The series "Kari Lente", initially titled "Kari Lente lost het op", was created by Bob Mau (1926 - 2006) in 1962. The album "De Verloren Zoon" was published in 1971 by "K.L.A. van den Bossche". The album was republished in 2010 by “Bonte”.

The main characters of the comic are the journalist Kari Lente (translation: Kari Spring), along with her faithful little cat Titus and fellow journalist Bikkel. The somewhat frumpy detective Sus Pens, the strange creature Slurfie and the awkward professor Knitsel were added later.

1963, Belgian comics: "Piet Pienter en Bert Bibber", "Herrie om Carolus Magnus"

In 1963 the 19th "Piet Pienter en Bert Bibber" album "Herrie om Carolus Magnus" (translation: "Fuss about Carolus Magnus") was published. The series "Piet Pienter en Bert Bibber" was created by Pom alias Jozef Van Hove in 1950.

1963, Film: “The Nutty Professor”

The American comedy film "The Nutty Professor" is released on 4 June 1963. The film directed and partly written by Jerry Lewis, stars himself, Stella Stevens, Del Moore and Kathleen Freeman. With music composed by Walter Scharf, the film is a parody of Robert Louis Stevenson's "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde".

Synopsis
Professor Julius Kelp (Jerry Lewis) is a nerdy, socially awkward university professor of chemistry whose experiments are most of the time very destructive. When a football student embarrasses and attacks him, he joins a local gymnasium. But due to the lack of physical strength he decides to invent a potion that turns him into the handsome Buddy Love...
