1964, Film: “Les félins”

The French thriller "Les félins" (US: "Joy House", UK: "The Love Cage") is released on 12 June 1964 in France. The film, directed and written by René Clément, is based on the novel "Joy House" (1954) by Day Keene and starring Jane Fonda, Alain Delon, and Lola Albright.

Synopsis
Marc (Alain Delon), a little criminal, is on the run from a New York gang. The gang's boss ordered to kill him because Marc had an affair with his wife. At the French Rivera Marc hides in a mission for the poor where Barbara (Lola Albright), a wealthy widow, hires him as her chauffeur. Melinda (Jane Fonda), Barbara's niece, becomes attracted to him...

  • "Les félins" is the second film René Clément made for MGM, the first one was "Le jour et l'heure" (1963) with Simone Signoret, Stuart Whitman, Geneviève Page, and Michel Piccoli.

1971, Film: “Klute”

“Klute” premièred on June 25, 1971. The film tells the story of a prostitute who assists a detective in solving a missing person's case. It stars Jane Fonda, Donald Sutherland, Charles Cioffi and Roy Scheider. The movie was written by Andy Lewis and Dave Lewis and directed by Alan J. Pakula.

Synopsis
When his old friend, the laboratory engineer Tom Gruneman (Robert Milli), vanishes, detective John Klute (Donald Sutherland) is hired by Tom's colleague Peter Cable (Charles Cioffi) to search for him. The only lead is letter written by Tom to a call-girl in New York called Bree Daniels (Jane Fonda). Klute blackmails Bree to help him to find Tom using some tapes of her phone calls that he had secretly recorded...
