The French comedy film "Sur un arbre perché" ("Perched on a Tree") was released on 14 April 1971. The film was directed by Serge Korber and written by Pierre Roustang . Main stars are Louis de Funès, his son Olivier de Funès and Geraldine Chaplin. The music was composed by Alain Goraguer.

Synopsis
Henri
Roubier (Louis de Funès), a French highway industrialist, returns
from Italy. He has just concluded with the
Italian Enrico
Mazzini (Franco
Volpi)
an
agreement ensuring them the
total control
over European highways. While driving along the Mediterranean,
Roubier picks up a young hitch-hiker
(Olivier de Funès) and a lovely young woman Mrs. Muller (Géraldine
Chaplin). The two passengers force Roubier to make a detour via
Cassis. As night falls Roubier
is distracted by the passengers and
he
misses a turn...

- The initial film project was called "L'Accident" ("The Accident"). Yves Montand and Annie Girardot would star in the film, but after reading the story Louis de Funès found it to be a good subject for comedy and the script was completely rewritten by Jean Halain and Serge Korber.
- Shirley MacLaine was originally to play Mrs. Muller. However, following a dispute over filming dates, she had to give up.
- This is the 6th and last time that Olivier de Funès played together with his father. After this film Olivier became an airline pilot.
- The car used in the film is a 1965 Chevrolet Impala SS convertible.
