1963, Belgian Comics: Kari Lente, "De Verloren Zoon"

In 1963 the "Kari Lente" story "De Verloren Zoon" ("The lost Son") was published (09/02/1963 – 19/04/1963) in the Belgian newspaper "Gazet van Antwerpen". The series "Kari Lente", initially titled "Kari Lente lost het op", was created by Bob Mau (1926 - 2006) in 1962. The album "De Verloren Zoon" was published in 1971 by "K.L.A. van den Bossche". The album was republished in 2010 by “Bonte”.

The main characters of the comic are the journalist Kari Lente (translation: Kari Spring), along with her faithful little cat Titus and fellow journalist Bikkel. The somewhat frumpy detective Sus Pens, the strange creature Slurfie and the awkward professor Knitsel were added later.

    2. Sparky comic published Three Belgian Strip during 1968-69. Kari Lente as `Clever Claire` for one nine week period April June 1968. Familie De Snoek as `The Snooks` from March to December 1968. Finally `Jerom` as `Big Billy Bigg` in a series of Five adventures between February 1968 to September 1969. The comic altered his appearance by removing his beard! So U.K readers never saw him as he appeared rest of Europe.
