The French comedy film "Pouic-Pouic" was released on 20
November 1963 in France. The film, directed by Jean Girault, was
written by himself and Jacques Vilfrid based on their play from 1952.
Main stars are Louis de Funès as Léonard Monestier and Mireille
Darc as his daughter Patricia Monestier. The music was composed by
Jean-Michel Defaye.
Synopsis
Léonard
Monestier (Louis
de Funès)
has made his fortune trading on the stock exchange. His wife Cynthia
(Jacqueline
Maillan)
almost bankrupts him by selling some of his shares to buy an oil
concession. Monestier decides to sell the
concession

Trivia
- The title refers to the favourite rooster of Cynthia Monestier (Jacqueline Maillan) called Pouic-Pouic.
- In the original play in 1952 Louis de Funès played the butler, in the film interpreted by Christian Marin as Charles.
- This film is the first collaboration between Louis de Funès and Jean Girault. More than ten films followed, including the Gendarme series.
