The West German
spy series "John Klings Abenteuer" ("John Klings
Adventures") premiered on 13 October 1965 on ZDF ("Zweites
Deutsches Fernsehen"). The series ran for two seasons from 13
October 1965 to 12 January 1966 and from 17 December 1969 to 18 March
1970 with a total of 26 episodes produced.
The main stars are Hellmut Lange and
Uwe
Friedrichsen in the roles of John Kling and Jones Burthe. The theme
music was composed by Gerhard Narholz.
Synopsis
John
Kling (Hellmut
Lange)
and Jones Burthe (Uwe
Friedrichsen)
are two secret agents
usually
taking on the
most dangerous jobs in
the world. At
the beginning of each episode the
two agents
get their orders from some
chief of police or secret service, who addressed them with the words:
"I have a
task
for you, John Kling...".
