On September 15,
1965, the first episode of the American TV series "Lost in
Space" was broadcast on CBS. The first episode titled "The
Reluctant Stowaway" was directed by Anton Leader and written by
Shimon Wincelberg (as S. Bar-David). Most of the music in the series,
including the theme tune, was composed by John Williams.
"Lost in Space"
is a science fiction television series created and produced by Irwin
Allen. The series follows the adventures of the space colonists
family Robinson. When their spaceship, the Jupiter 2, is sabotaged
and thrown off course, they try to survive in space. A total of 83
episodes were produced in three series from 1965 to 1968. Main star
of the show is Guy Williams, famous from his role as Zorro, he plays
Professor John Robinson an astrophysicist specialised in planetary
geology. He is the expedition commander and the father of the
Robinson children.

Synopsis first
episode
On October 16,
1997, (in 1965 32 years in the future) the United States is about to
launch the Jupiter 2, a saucer-shaped spaceship. Its mission is to
take a single family on a 5,5 year journey to a planet orbiting the
nearest star, Alpha Centauri. The mission is sabotaged by Dr. Zachary
Smith (Jonathan Harris), a foreign agent, who slips aboard the
spaceship and reprograms the robot to destroy the spaceship and its
crew...
