1965, Film: Les Grandes Gueules

The French-Italian dramatic adventure film "Les Grandes Gueules" premiered in France on 22 October 1965. Directed by Robert Enrico, who also co-wrote the screenplay based on José Giovanni's novel "Le Haut-Fer", the film stars Bourvil, Lino Ventura, Jean-Claude Rolland, and Marie Dubois.

Synopsis
Hector Valentin (Bourvil), a Frenchman who has spent years in Canada trying to strike it rich, learns from his notary that he has inherited his father’s family sawmill in the Vosges. Determined to revive the dilapidated business, he returns to his native region. However, Casimir Therraz (Nick Stephanini), the owner of a rival sawmill in the village, is fiercely protective of his local monopoly and tries to buy Hector out. Undeterred, Hector refuses Therraz's offer...

1971, Film: Boulevard du Rhum

The French-Italian-Spanish adventure film "Boulevard du Rhum" (English Title: "Rum Runners") was released on 13 October 1971 in France. The film, directed by Robert Enrico, was written by Jacques Pecheral based on his novel of the same name. Main stars are Brigitte Bardot, Lino Ventura and Bill Travers. The music was composed by François de Roubaix.

Synopsis
In 1925 the Prohibition is implemented in the United States. Along international waters, on the line three miles from the American coast, the "Boulevard du Rhum" ("Rum Row"), the booze-laden boats of the "rum-runners" wait for the speedboats to come and take delivery. The boat of Cornelius van Zeelinga (Lino Ventura), a brave, brawling captain, who has come from Jamaica with a load of rum, is sunk by the American coastguard. Cornelius can escape to Mexico and finds accommodation in a "fonda"…
