On 15 September
1974 the first episode of the British LWT television comedy series "The Top Secret Life of Edgar Briggs" was transmitted on the ITV
network. The series, created by Richard Laing and Bernard McKenna,
was produced by Humprey Barclay. The title role, the incompetent and
clumsy Edgar Briggs, was played by David Jason. From 15 September to
20 December 1974 a total of 13 episodes were transmitted.
Synopsis
Edgar Briggs (David
Jason) is the personal assistant to the Commander of the British
Secret Intelligence Service (Noel Coleman). Despite his incompetence
he manages to solve each case...
