1964, Television: "The Addams Family"

The American horror sitcom "The Addams Family" premiered on 18 September 1964 on ABC. The series, based on the characters from Charles Addams' New Yorker cartoons, ran for two seasons from 18 September 1964 to 8 April 1966 with a total of 64 episodes produced. The series was created by David Levy and Donald Saltzman and each 30 minutes episode was filmed in black-and-white. The opening theme was composed and sung by Vic Mizzy.

The main stars are John Astin as Gomez Addams and Carolyn Jones as his wife Morticia Addams, Lisa Loring as Wednesday Addams and Ken Weatherwax as Pugsley Addams as their children, Jackie Coogan as Uncle Fester and Ted Cassidy as the butler Lurch.

Synopsis
The eccentric
Addams Family have macabre interests and supernatural abilities. The wealthy, enthusiastic Gomez Addams (John Astin) is madly in love with his wife, Morticia (Carolyn Jones). Along with their children Wednesday (Lisa Loring) and Pugsley (Ken Weatherwax), Uncle Fester (Jackie Coogan), and Grandmama (Blossom Rock), they live at 0001 Cemetery Lane. The family has two servants: the butler Lurch (Ted Cassidy) and Thing, a disembodied hand that appears from within a wooden box…
