On 21 September 1977, the French-Canadian film "La Menace" premiered in France. Directed by Alain Corneau from an original screenplay he co-wrote with Daniel Boulanger and Claude Hopkins, the film stars Yves Montand, Marie Dubois, Carole Laure and Jean-François Balmer. The musical score was composed by Gerry Mulligan.

Synopsis
Henri Savin (Yves Montand) runs a haulage company in the Bordeaux region, although the business is owned by his long-time partner, Dominique Montlaur (Marie Dubois). For some time, Henri has been having an affair with the young and striking Julie Mauret (Carole Laure). Dominique has recently become aware of their relationship. As Henri prepares to leave her, he admits that although he still cares deeply for her, he is no longer in love with her. Dominique reacts with fury…
