1974, Television: "Paper Moon"

The American sitcom "Paper Moon" premiered on 12 September 1974 on ABC. The series is based on the 1971 novel "Addie Pray" by Joe David Brown and the 1973 film with the same title directed by Peter Bogdanovich. It ran for one season from 12 September 1974 to 19 December 1974 with a total of 13 episodes. The main stars are Christopher Connelly and Jodie Foster in the roles of Moses Pray and his presumed daughter, Addie. The theme music was composed by Harold Arlen.

Synopsis
During the Great Depression of the 1930’s Moses Pray aka "Moze" sells Bibles as a representative of a non-existent company. Addie’s late mother was a friend of Moses’s, and because Addie believes that she resembles Moses, she is therefore convinced that he is her father...

  • In the 1973 film Ryan O'Neal and real-life daughter Tatum O'Neal play Moses and Addie Pray.
  • Christopher Connelly, who plays Moses Pray in the series, and Ryan O'Neal, who played the same role in the 1973 film, previously had played brothers in the long running TV-series Peyton Place (1964-1969).
