1963, Belgian Comics: "Gil Jourdan", "Surboum pour quatre roues"

In 1963 the sixth "Gil Jourdan" comic album, "Surboum pour quatre roues" ("Having a Bang on 4 Wheels", published as "Boom and Bust") is published by "Dupuis". The story was written and drawn by Maurice Tillieux. The comic was first published in 1961 in no. 1225 to no. 1248 of the journal "Spirou" ("Robbedoes"). The main characters are: Gil Jourdan, Libellule, Jules Crouton, Marc Rouleau, Francesco Canelli, Antonio Ilmonaco aka Toni-le-Martiniquais, Prof, Catcheur, Pignoul, and Henri Dufour

In 1956 Maurice Tillieux created the detective Felix, after the Belgian comic magazine "Héroïc Albums" ceased publication he went on to "Spirou"” magazine and renamed his detective Gil Jourdan. Jourdan made his first appearance in issue 962 of Spirou. The first twelve albums were drawn and written by Tillieux, from album thirteen the drawings are by Roland Goossens aka Gos.

Synopsis
In Paris several Renault Juvaquatre vans are stolen. One of the thieves dies in a traffic accident, when he had been chased by his victim. His accomplice, Toni-le-Martiniquais, can escape. The inspector in charge of the investigation, a colleague of Crouton, doesn’t understand why a well organized gang steals so many vans…
